100 Years War ( part 2)

It took the Void approximately 75 years to completely “control” the earth. What little resistance was left hide in areas the Void wouldn’t access. No one could explain why nor where they trying to. There mere existence was survival. The humans that fleet the earth, became known as the Travelers.

The Travelers were a mix of ex military, scientists, the rich and of course government officials. Their was one faction among the Travelers that tried to keep Serenity hidden. Their aim was to keep using her as a means to either give them more power and control or to give them riches. Whichever came first made no difference to them. They had time. This faction became known as The Crusaders. There lust for power knew no ends.

On the other end of the spectrum grew a group that of course resisted all The Crusaders stood for. They wanted to use Serenity to take back their home planet earth and destroy the Void. They were often referred to as the Zealots. They were so focused on there sole mission to restore earth they couldn’t see anything else.

The members of the Trinity were associated with The Zealots, ex military members that wanted to just go back to earth. They were sick of deep space. They were tired of running and all the constant death. They would probably never see that in their life time.

100 Year War (Chapter 4)

The one hundred years that was spent after the arrival of both Serenity and the Void was a time of complete chaos and major advancements in the human race. Due to the military keeping a lock down on Serenity and studying her the biological advancements were numerous.  Poor vision cured, muscle dystrophy cured, old age and the ilk expanded on or nearly cured.

Humans could now live to be over 120 and still look and act like they were in their 20’s. The problem was once they hit a certain age the human body deteriorated at such a rapid rate that it was like death itself came looking for you. Due to these advancements the earth’s population became so over burden that the only cure was war.

Once the humans figured out about Serenity they tried to weaponize her. Why she wouldn’t follow orders they put her back under. The long sleep that a woken dreams she never once had before. But, during this time the Void was picking up, what was laid down. All the dead, all the carnage. The Void seemed, to always be near. First it was the small skirmishes. It would pick over the bodies and the equipment used to bring such destruction. The size of the Void gradually grew and grew.

All the nation’s tried to make treatise when it came to the subject of the Void but no matter what the chaos and confusion was to much and everything would break down. Next came nuclear solution or expansion beyond words. One nuke turned the Void into the largest skyscraper, two turned it into something far worse.

The Void caused all life on earth to disappear either through absorption or thru flight.  Whatever couldn’t escape became known as the DeVoid. Whatever went into the Void, started coming back out. Nothing came back whole though. People, came back looking like corpses devoid of any feelings or energy. But, they were relentless. Bullets wouldn’t stop them, limbs chopped off didn’t faze them.

Serenity (part 2)

As the military units scrambled for safety and their own life’s, dragging the unconscious Serenity roughly behind them. The chaos and confusion in the vacuum erupted into a full blown volcanic episode. The Void started to cast itself around the room. What started as one turned into 30, 40 , 100. As its size increased so did the count of its offspring. The scientists tried to seal the room but that couldn’t stop it.

The titanium alloy, military grade 4 ( the strongest metal available at the time) was ripped from the rafters and struts. The constant water pressure that pressed into this building trying to find a way finally got its wish. At first it started as a small trickle. Then, it soon became a waterfall. The force from  two separate entities coming together to create one huge collision is a sight to be hold.

As the vacuum self lock down process took effect, doors shutting. Self sealing huge metallic doors that appeared as if from no where, blocked both escape paths. As the Void, kept feeding itself. The ocean kept coming in. The Void finally released its mistake as its tiny clones started to “drown” out. The force from all the constant water and this black hole like entity converged.

Blackness.

Serenity (chapter 3)

Serenity, wasn’t born from normal circumstances. She merely came into existence due to a mix of need and chaos. She understood where she had came from and what was at stake but she didn’t understand how she came to be in this format. She looked around this enclosed room where she felt the constant pull of force that felt like begin pulled through a black hole. She knew what that felt like. She stood as tall as she could her elegant form not wavering. She walked towards the entrance trying to understand this room. She understood she was in a vacuum but she didn’t understand how a vacuum could be made in such a space.

As she approached the door, the vacuum was shut off and the military flexed it’s muscles and rushed in. She screamed as these figure she had never encountered before seized her and tried to force her to submit to her will. But, again she was unwavering. No amount of force, pressure, fear, yelling would move her. Then it happened. Someone hit her with a tranquilizer. She felt the effects almost immediately. Light headed, room spinning, crazy images, then blackness.

The Void shifted, it felt the only force to keep it back had disappeared. She, the light was gone. The Void expanded. Everything that it could touch it draw into itself. All the military units didn’t understand. They only felt fear. As the fear overcame them then shot as many rounds of ammo into the Void as fast and as much as they had on them.

Every bullet, disappeared into the Void causing it’s metamorphosis to increase. Basketball increased to chair, from chair 6 feet in circumference. Expansion would not end. The panic that erupted was massive, they grabbed Serenity and dragged her roughly from the room.

Into the Void ( part 2)

They couldn’t understand how this material,  this dark matter in a sense could hold stars. The experiments picked up gamma rays, radiation tests that don’t even have names, more and more they begin to “throw “ everything they had at it. Until one day someone give it a little light. Not just any light but a direct beam of light from the sun. During this time science discovered how to harness the light from the sun to use in their terraforming process.

Someone thought it be a great idea to give the Void some direct energy from the sun. Well, the Void, didn’t agree with this and began to expand. At first it grew to the size of a golf ball, then it grow to a baseball. Finally at the end of the experiment it grew to the size of a basket ball. What’s worse this growth, also seemed to trigger a few unknown phenomenon. One being, this Void had created it’s own gravitational pull. It started pulling the smallest of objects towards itself. Dust, small bugs, anything within a few inches would be drawn into the pull and never seen from again.

The had to content this matter. It was like a black hole, but you could see the stars. In fact the stars got closer and closer to the surface level as the Void grew in size. Finally one day Dr.Suric had enough this matter, was pure chaos. It seemed more like a sentient begin rather than  a fuel source. The vacuum… they had a completely sealed off vacuum that would be perfect for this. Dr.Suric and collages found a portable vacuum and sealed off the Void and brought it to the full self-sustaining vacuum. As they released the Void into this 30 foot self sealing vacuum something happened.

To this day no one understands, no one can even contemplate what happened. If their wasn’t a video it would be pure speculation. The vacuum pulled one of the stars to the surface area of the Void. As this star touched the edge of our reality and whatever this “Void” was, it materialized. The stars energy transformed inside the vacuum. The scientists who were watching this fear hit every emergency switch in the building.

Fire alarms, oxygen alarms,  nuclear alarms, terrorists alerts.  Every damn buzzer they had was going off. It took the military 2 minutes to get their. This extremely isolated, facility under 20,000 feet of water. One of the hardest places on earth to locate was accessed in 2 minutes by military figures. Let me try to make this clear when  we are talking about military we are talking about out 1/3 of all available forces from all branches were their within 2 minutes…. Crazy…
They all witnessed the birth of Serenity. She came from the Void. She was the star. As the stars energy mixed with the vacuum, it created this truly sentient figure. Who was standing in the Vacuum not effected  by the complete lack of oxygen.

Into the Void (chapter 2)

“ Captain!” the First Lieutenant screams over the intercom. Her voice raspy and distraught.
“ What is it Lt. Andros? You sound like you’ve been smoking all day.” The silent rage behind his words of  the verge of becoming visible rage. He’s day has gone from shit to Fubar ( fucked up beyond all recognition) . He lost Serenity for the 4th time this week. His ship is almost out supplies, he is beginning to question if there is a spy on board and whether torture is a plausible means of communication.

“ The Void, sir. The Void is here!” The intercom begins to sound like a banshee, shrieking static echoes  across the ship as the lights begin to dim and pulsate.
“ Get us the fuck out of here!” The Captain screams to the helmsman. His day just went beyond Fubar. The Captain wonders if their anything beyond Fubar and if so would this qualify because he thinks it does.

The Void, I know what your thinking what is the Void. What is going on? What did I get myself into? Well to explain the Void. We have to go back a few years… Approximately 100 or so. When mankind begin to really delve itself into space exploration and discovery. During this time, scientists from all fields begin to combined ideas to perfect space travel and terraforming.  Well, one scientist he figured somethings out and begin to produce spaceships and crafts that could change future space travel. He thought he figured out a way to travel faster than the speed of light. The problem was how to access this phenomenon without blowing up whole planets.

As Dr.Suric, began his experiments. The spacecraft already out in space started sending new discovers back. One such item known as the Void came into possession of the top scientists of Earth. At first it looked like a small dark drusy. But, as the experiments and examinations continued they released their was stars in this matter.

The darkness can't be hidden from (part 2)

The older woman turns to stare boldly at Serenity. This eye contact speaks volumes.
“It’s time to get up and get ready.” Helena says matter-of-fact. Serenity looks at Helena.
“ALRIGHT! Helena, you win.” Her tone haughty yet obeying. Serenity begins to slip out of bed. Her bare skin slowly making itself visible as the down comforter falls to the floor. She puts her delicate feet onto the oak floor as she begins to sit up in one fluid motion. Helena has already put out her school clothes so she can get dressed.
“I am  going to take a shower, Helena.” She tries to impose her will on to her nanny/servant. But, Helena looks at the just turned eighteen years old and shakes her head no and points to the clothes. Serenity, exasperated just grumbles and throws her clothes on. This whole exchange takes 20 minutes.
“Helena… I had the weirdest dreams last night.” She confesses finally after a few moments of silence.
“ They seem to be getting worse…I am starting to be afraid of sleeping.” Serenity eyes look haunted and lack the luster of youth from the dreams that have been occurring.
“Serenity,  your dreams can’t hurt you. No matter what you may think or feel.” Helena skillfully avoids the interaction. Her body language clearly showing signs that something is not all that it seems to be. Helena motions towards the door as her step indicates she is leaving. Serenity gets the hint and scrambles to grab the last few remaining items as she runs after Helena.
“I hope your right, Helena. I hope your right.” Serenity’s voice is muffled and sounds like it’s still in its sleep stage. Ding…
“Captain, we still can’t locate her. She seems to be way beyond R.E.M. There is no way of knowing what planet, what sleep wave or if she can even hear us. They have to be using the new formula.”
“ We have to figure this out, Lieutenant. She is our only hope.” The Captain looks out over his crew. “ We have to find her. Everything depends on her.” The darkness that surrounds the ship is eternal. It seems like nothing can escape this light-less void.

The darkness can't be hidden from.

It has begun, the darkness swells inside. It engulfs, nothing is safe from the eternal darkness that creeps forward. It clings to the light and hides the beauty that only is visible during these times.
She wakes up covered in sweat, her breathe is heavy and labored.  Her eyes reflecting the tiny light of the cell phone that says someone is trying to get a hold of her. She struggles to adjust to the night. Her phone beeps once, she looks at it confused as she picks it up.
“You had the dream again?” The text reads as she tries to focus.
She looks at her phone with such concentration that it begins to give her a headache. Ding, another text… The phone says it’s 3am.
“It has begun and you are needed.” The questions that begin to pop their way into her head as numerous. Who is this? What has begun? Need me? What is going on?
She wakes up screaming! The door pops open.
“Honey? Are you OK?” the sound of a loving parental figure can be heard among the darkness.
“Sorry, I was having a bad dream… I don’t know why I screamed. Sorry Mom.” She looks to the person standing in the open door, eyes trying to adjust to the bright light coming through from the other side.
“ It’s ok, try to get so get some sleep you have a big day ahead of you.” The mother sounds sweet as silk like any caring for parent would be. Ding, text message goes off.
“Your still dreaming, this is not real. Focus.” Ding
“We need you.”  Ding
“Hurry!”
A loud scream is heard from outside the locked door. A single figure locked down on the bed is seen by faint moonlight. Her mouth is open blood dripping from the corners, the pain in her eyes beyond meaning. She screams again. Outside you can hear the sound of keys rustling to open the door. Click, the door bursts open and three figures rush into the room.
“Oh god, she’s bleeding!”
“How can she be bleeding. I locked those locks myself!”
“It’s coming from her mouth” Three female voices talking other each other, sounding like one voice. Sponges, gauze, mouth wash, rubber gloves. The instruments used to sanitize and sterilize. The blood slowly disappears.
“Oh dear child… why did you do this to yourself? He’s not going to be happy when he hears about this.”
“Do we have to tell him? Doesn’t seem that bad.”
“She almost bit her tongue off,  do we have to tell him?!” the last voice filled with heavy sarcasm and clear contempt at the voice asking the question.  As the pain beings to clear her eyes focus. Three heads all leave together. Ding,ding,ding.
“ Shit, where is she!”
“I can’t first day her!”
“Great, they moved her yet again…” the last voice trails off. She’s heard these voices most of her life. Her eyes close, she is getting sleepy. The nurse must have give her something…She can’t remember…Really tired…Sleep….
The blinds of the curtain are slowly pulled back and the sunlight bursts through the window as the older woman ties the blinds back to their post.
“Miss Serenity, it’s time to wake up. You’re going to be late.” The older woman, says to the much younger one still laying in bed.
“ I didn’t sleep well, last night Mom. I kept having those crazy dreams.” Serenity mumbles sleepily, through half yawns.
“ I hate when you call me Mom, Miss Serenity , you know that’s not my role!” the older woman begins to  grab items off the floor and place them around the room in their correct spot.
“Well, it’s not my fault you act more like a mother, than my dearest Mom!” the sarcasm dripping heavily from the statement.
